We Happy Fewis an action-adventure game set in an alternative retro-futuristic version of the 1960s United Kingdom. The British independent studio Compulsion Games, known for the contrast of the game that presents a similar atmosphere, is behind this production.
The game takes us to a fictional town of Wellington Wells, where almost all residents live in perpetual happiness. However, this results from using a hallucinogenic drug and being deceived by Uncle Jack (the local equivalent of Big Brother), who constantly looks at everyone.
The player takes on the role of one of the rebellious citizens, who refuses to give in to the system and must always be ready to fight for survival, in this anti-utopia where anyone who stands out is mercilessly eliminated. To achieve our goals, we have to observe everything closely and understand the principles that govern this world.
The game is played from a first-person perspective. We have to explore the streets of the city, collecting and using various objects. Some of them will allow us to restore health (for example, bandages) or enter houses (levers), while various types of weapons will help us fight our opponents.
