Vietcong takes players into the lush rainforest battlefields of Vietnam and puts them in charge of a six-person team of elite American special forces. Players control the squad leader and are responsible for evaluating each mission and issuing orders based on the capabilities of each team member. Available vehicles include the twin-engine CH47 Chinook helicopter, the F-5 Tiger supersonic fighter jet, the Russian GAZ off-road 69 (Gorki'y Automobil Zavod), and the famous UHD1 "Huey" helicopter.

More than 20 historical weapons are available during the 20 missions - players will be able to infiltrate dangerous enemy tunnels and other hostile areas using boats, jeeps and trucks. Users can call in airstrikes, request evacuation, receive detailed data, and experience the sounds of ricocheting bullets and explosions. Multiplayer options allow for head-to-head confrontations between Viet Cong and US Special Forces squads.
