Vanquishfor PC/Windows is a futuristic third-person shooter developed by a Japanese studio, PlatinumGames, creators of many games, including theslashercritically acclaimedBayonetta. Shinji Mikami, father of game series such asresident EvileitherDino Crisis, is one of the producers of the game.

This game was first released in the fall of 2010 on 7th generation consoles. Seven years later, a slightly improved version of the game was released on PC. In both cases we get the same game, but when it comes to technical aspects, the PC version turned out much better.

Story in Vanquish for PC/Windows is set in the distant future where the Earth's natural resources are running out and two major world powers are fighting over what little is left. As part of this peculiar energy race, the United States of America builds an advanced space station, a skyward city that can harvest the sun's energy.

However, Russian infiltrators manage to take over the station and convert the harvested solar energy into a powerful weapon that completely destroys the city of San Francisco. By doing so, Russia wants to force the US to complete the unconditional capitulation.
