Lara Croft is a character that every adventure game fan knows. In the fourth installment of the Tomb Raider series, development studio Core Design made sure that the female equivalent of Indiana Jones looks even better and faces even deadlier enemies.
The action takes place in two places. The Cambodian temple called Angkor Wat merely serves as a warm-up and, at the same time, introduces one of Lara's main opponents: Dr. Werner Von Croy. Most of the plot of Tomb Raider 4: The Last Revelation takes place in Egypt and concerns the discovery of an ancient temple where Seth was once imprisoned.
By chance, the main heroine frees the god and thus endangers all of humanity. To save the world from destruction, the beautiful archaeologist has to collect the Armor of Horus and defeat Seth with the help of it.
Unlike previous installments in the Tomb Raider series, the developers of The Last Revelation put an emphasis on freedom: each location can be visited multiple times in multiple ways and in any order.
The game heavily emphasizes logical elements, but the backbone of the game remains the same: the arcade elements still prevail. Lara has a whole new range of moves, including swinging on ropes and climbing poles.
