The Walking DeadFirst seasonfor PC/Windows is an adventure game from Telltale Games Studios, known for developing episodic games, such as Sam & Max, Wallace & Gromit, Tales of Monkey Island, Back to the Future and Jurassic Park. The game is based on the award-winning comic book series created by Robert Kirkman, titled The Walking Dead. The game is divided into episodes that make up seasons, just like a television show.

The main protagonist of the first season of The Walking Dead is Lee Everett. The story begins with the outbreak of the zombie apocalypse, at a time when Rick Grimes (the comic's protagonist) is in a coma. When the infection begins its bloody harvest, Lee is handcuffed in the back seat of a police car. He was arrested for murdering a man who slept with his wife.

The developers decided to present adventures of a completely new group of people, while the main inspiration in the creation process was the work of Robert Kirkman, which the developers consider to be the canonical version of the story. Players can visit locations and meet well-known characters from the comics and gain additional information about them. The first season of the game is divided into five episodes. Completing each one takes about two hours on average.
