The Suffering: Ties That Bindis a unique American action horror experience that surpasses the original in every way. You are Torque, armed with a deadly arsenal and your last shred of sanity, doomed to wage war against hideous monstrosities in a bloody battle of revenge against a hidden mastermind that holds the keys to your past.

The game begins by revisiting Torque's stay at the East Baltimore Correctional Facility five years before the events of the first game, in which he and Miles confront Blackmore, the man who orchestrated the events that led to his imprisonment, and several of his aides.

As Torque and Miles are about to be attacked by a prison riot.
Five years later, in the present day, Torque escapes Carnate Island, the site of his imprisonment, and attempts to return to his hometown of Baltimore, only to be captured by a mysterious paramilitary organization known as the Foundation.
