Surf World Seriesfor PC/Windows is a third-person perspective game dedicated to surfing, a sport rarely portrayed in the video game industry. The game was developed by Climax, a British studio responsible for several titles, including Sudeki, Bloodforge and Rocket Knight.
The authors decided to avoid the introduction of any type of plot. Instead, we're left with realistic recreations of all the major surf spots, including Bells Beach in Australia, or Waimea Bay in Hawaii. Players can choose from six surfers whose skills and appearance can be customized through an extensive customization module.
The style of the game fits somewhere between a simulation and an arcade oriented game. The competitions are quite spectacular, but the sport itself (i.e. staying afloat) requires a lot of effort.
More experienced players can add surf tricks to their runs, including Superman or Sushi Roll.
Players can choose from forty-five challenges, comparing their results with the online community.
We are also left with a multiplayer module consisting of three modes that offer online competitions for up to fifteen players at the same time.
