Spin Rhythmis a rhythm game that pays homage to challenging titles in the genre, such as Guitar Hero and Dance Dance Revolution. It was developed by an independent Australian studio, Super Spin Digital.
The basic rules of Spin Rhythm are simple. The player controls a wheel that automatically moves along a timeline filled with colorful "beats." Our task is to continue positioning the wheel so that its colors match the colors of the "rhythms" we pass through. The wheel also usually passes through special fields that force us to manually turn in a certain direction, by pressing a button or touching the screen (depending on the platform we are playing on).
All of this must be done to the beat of the music, and while operating the wheel isn't too problematic during slower songs, it becomes much more complicated during faster ones. We can only make a few mistakes (each one depletes our health bar and we will have to start over if it runs out), so we will have to be perceptive and react quickly.
There are five difficulty levels available, ensuring that both newcomers and veterans of the genre can enjoy themselves. The game also includes many accessibility features, such as custom color palettes, adjusting wheel movement speed, and dimming visual effects.
Advancing in the game allows us to unlock new skins for the steering wheel and interface. The game also features a level editor, which allows players to create custom tracks set to their favorite songs.
