Sons of the Forestis the second installment of a popular survival horror series that originated in 2018. It was developed by Endnight Games, the same studio as its predecessor.

In Sons of the Forest we play as a survivor of a helicopter crash, trapped in the middle of a vast forest. We must find our missing companions along with a way out. Unfortunately, the forest is invaded by mutated creatures seeking our blood.

The gameplay of Sons of the Forest is shown from a first-person perspective (FPP). The game presents an open and freely traversable world. In addition to the dense forest, a river that flows into picturesque waterfalls or a vast beach, we can also enter dark caves. Since our situation is quite dangerous, survival elements and an extensive crafting system play an important role.

In order to obtain food, we must first collect wood and create improvised weapons. This fairly abundant resource can also be used to create an impressive camp (a multi-story complex surrounded by a palisade; smaller shelters are outgrown rather quickly, and a stretched tarp soon no longer suffices).

As for weapons, although simple spears and knives are enough to kill non-aggressive animals (such as turtles), we need much more powerful firepower to contain the mutants and enter their territory. Firearms are rare, but we can acquire one if we are lucky.

However, you have to be careful, as even a stun gun or a high-caliber pistol may not be enough against the large number of mutants. As if that were not enough, we will soon end up facing even more twisted and powerful creatures, defeating which is much more challenging.
