In Sniper Elite V2For PC/Windows, the player takes on the role of a sniper working for the United States government. The action takes place in Berlin, 1945, when the city is being torn apart by the German and Soviet armies. The key mechanics of the game are based on sniper tactics that combine stealth and avoiding unnecessary contact with being able to choose between several ways to achieve victory in a mission.

AI-controlled forces aim to make the player's objectives as difficult to complete as possible. This was achieved by applying realistic behaviors such as hiding or communicating to discover the protagonist's position.

The creators implemented a set of mechanics that add to the authenticity of the sniper missions. For the bullet to hit the target, not only an eagle eye is required, but also weapons parameters related to ballistics and weather conditions. Apart from that, an ability to control the body is required (to slow down the heart rate, for example). One's victory or failure may depend on a single bullet here.
