Rogue Warrioris a first-person shooter with stealth elements released on PC/Windows. The game was prepared by Rebellion (creators of the Aliens vs. Predator video game series) for Bethesda Softworks, after the original Zombie Studios project was cancelled.
The main hero of Rogue Warrior for PC/Windows is Richard Marcinko, the famous Navy SEALs veteran. Despite having an authentic figure as the protagonist, the game is not based on facts. Rogue Warrior takes you back to the middle of the Cold War. Marcinko is sent on a secret mission to North Korea, where he has to disrupt the launch of ballistic missiles. Soon the protagonist discovers a conspiracy that could change the tides of the conflict in favor of the communists.
Rogue Warrior uses first-person shooter mechanics with some tactical elements. Due to the nature of his mission, the hero must do everything possible to keep a low profile. This means that he often uses suppressed weapons and sneaks past enemies to eliminate them quickly and silently. The game's landmark feature is the brutal death moves shown in a third-person perspective animation.
