Prince of Persia The Sands of Timefor PC, PS2 and etc. is the fourth installment in the popular adventure game series started in 1989 by Jordan Mechner and published by Broderbund. The new edition, promoted by Ubisoft Entertainment, was developed by the famous Montreal studio, the parents of e.g. Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell. The game was developed under the watchful eye of the aforementioned programmer and the initiator of the saga, Jordan Mechner.

Another installment of the adventures of the Persian prince takes place in a fictional Middle Eastern country during the fullest flowering of the Middle Ages. The main hero returns from the boring military campaign and stops at the palace of a friendly ruler. Inside, he encounters a treacherous vizier who tricks him into releasing the legendary Sands of Time that pose a dire threat to the world. Unexpectedly, a beautiful, mysterious and potentially untrustworthy woman appears. She gives the hero a hand to return reality to its normal form.

The game consists of exploring various locations with oriental fauna and flora architecture, fighting enemies and collecting the power of the sands of their bodies. The Sands are the source of the supernatural powers of time control, which give the Prince an advantage over hordes of enemies. The authors made sure to maintain all the characteristic elements of the Prince of Persia series: very realistic animation and an intelligent combat system.
