Pillars of Eternityis a fantasy cRPG developed by Obsidian Entertainment with the support of users of the Kickstarter financing platform. The player takes on the role of a hero who, with the help of his companions, must embark on a dangerous mission to complete a series of dangerous tasks.

The gameplay of Pillars of Eternity is reminiscent of classic productions such as Baldur's Gate, Icewind Dale and Planescape: Torment. The creators decided to use combat mechanics with an active pause system. The game also features a complex character development system and a wide variety of weapons and equipment for characters to use.

The visuals of the PC/Windows edition of Pillars of Eternity resemble classic cRPGs. The events on screen are presented in isometric view, characteristic of the late 90's - early 00's role-playing games, for example: Baldur's Gate and the Icewind Dale series. The title stands out from its predecessors due to numerous special effects, such as fire or spell casting animations.
