Outlast 2is a first-person survival horror game developed by the Red Barrels studio, also responsible for the first installment of the series. The developers decided not to continue the story of the first Outlast.
The player will not return to the mysterious asylum in the mountains of Colorado, the designers of the sequel prepared a completely new setting for the second part of the series, with new main characters and locations.
Outlast 2 has very similar mechanics to its predecessor, featuring a first-person view and a lack of offensive capabilities for the player-controlled hero. To survive, the player must avoid being detected by enemies who will also not always be successful, in which case fleeing is the only chance for the player to survive.
The game also features a parkour system, allowing the player a chance to escape more easily.
It only has one camcorder, which has night vision enabled, although the camcorder's batteries are also drained when using night vision.
There is no conflict it is always in black and white. But once the dust has settled, the victors get to decide who was right and who was wrong. Who is good and who is bad. Human nature pushes us to extreme conditions of violence and depravity, which we then justify by divine inspiration and a promise of paradise to come. Horror rises from desperation and blind faith.
