Night in the Woodsfor PC, PS4 and etc. is a nostalgic arcade adventure game that puts an emphasis on plot, exploration, and characters. The game was created by an independent team known as Infinite Ammo, led by Alec Holowka, who created the TowerFall: Ascension soundtrack and co-developed the Arcady Aquaria. Night in the Woods was largely funded through a crowdfunding campaign on Kickstarter, which achieved success within 26 hours.

The game takes place in Possum Springs, a small mining town. The last mine closes and the town falls into decay because people no longer have jobs. The player assumes the role of Mae, a cat with paranormal abilities, who abandons her studies to return home and spend the last years of her youth with old friends.

Among them, the player will find Bea's best friend - Mae, Gregg and Angus, who both want to move somewhere else eventually, or a homeless man named Germ. The protagonist soon discovers that both her hometown and her old companions have changed substantially and nothing is the same as it used to be. Additionally, the streets become unnaturally abandoned at night and something that could be deep down is lurking in the nearby woods.
