Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Heroes 3for PlayStation Portable is a fighting game (similar to previous installments in the series) that requires the player to apply different ninja techniques depending on the chosen character.

Aside from that, players can use items, such as enlarged shurikens or poison bombs. Each duel takes place on two planes: the foreground and the background. The player can switch between these by pressing a simple combination of buttons.
