Set in the outskirts of New York City, the game is combat-heavy, as players use various superpowers to overcome destructible urban environments where enemies can be thrown through walls and almost any object can be wielded as a weapon in the right hands.

Head-to-head multiplayer battles are supported between properly equipped players, and the game's single-player story was developed by a veteran Marvel creative team.
