Gold Rush: The Gamefor PC is a realistic simulator that offers the player the opportunity to mine gold in Alaska. The game was created by Polish studio Code Horizon (Giant Machines 2017) and published by PlayWay (Farm Expert 2017, Helicopter: Natural Disasters).
The creators launched a fundraising campaign on Kickstarter to raise money for the production process. Since the open-world Free Roam is the main component of the game, Gold Rush does not feature any major story, and the player is free to shape his gold-digger career to his liking.
The four locations prepared by the creators contain unique stories inspired by Alaska itself: the player can discover them as they explore.
The core of the experience is constituted by the exploitation of gold plots to accumulate reserves of precious metals. The player transports the necessary equipment using a truck, controls the heavy machinery from inside, and washes the gold nuggets by carefully moving the material in a container of water.
Immersive first-person camera mode is the default way to observe your surroundings. This first-person perspective allows the player to operate numerous devices with precision (connection cables, pushing switches, replacing fuel filters, etc.).
However, heavy vehicles and machines have additional view modes, such as a TPP mode that makes maneuvering easier, or another view that focuses on the arm and bucket of the excavator.
