FlatOut 2 for PC is the second installment in a series of "brutal" racing games developed by Bugbear Entertainment. The original game managed to combine the rivalry of regular racing with the joyful destruction of the cars participating in the races, and it was very successful.
Additionally, the previous game was impressive in terms of visuals and the physics engine used; These were the reasons why the game gained the approval of more than 600,000 racing fans, mainly including those who love the legendary Destruction Derby. This was also noticed by the publisher of the original game, Empire Interactive, and thus another installment came out.
As expected, the creators focused on the aspects that fans liked most about the original title; therefore, destruction is in the foreground here. Having purchased FlatOut 2, one receives a racing game full of crashes; just getting to the finish line in one piece is quite a challenge here.
The graphics and physics engines were improved. As a result, the crashes are even more spectacular than in the first installment. Falling doors, fenders, wheels and other items, broken glass, shattered bumpers and engine fumes are common during racing. In addition, hundreds of interactive objects and obstacles were placed on the tracks, as well as different dizzying shortcuts that diversify and intensify the chaos around.
