Empire Earth 1for PC is a strategy and empire-building game developed by Stainless Steel Studios published by Sierra On-Line in November 2001. It had two sequels, Empire Earth II, published in April 2005, and Empire Earth III in November 2007.

It also had a sort of spin-off in the game Empires: Dawn of the Modern World, which had the same developers and genre.

Empire Earth mastermind Rick Goodman was the lead designer of the original Age of Empires. Therefore, the similarities are hardly surprising; in fact, their new game can be considered a 3D version of its predecessor.

Despite the graphical jump, the look and feel of the game is very familiar: AoE fans will feel right at home. The perspective is fixed in an isometric view, no camera management required.

In your quest to crush the opposition, you build settlements, collect five types of resources, recruit troops (land, sea, air), and, well, fight battles. Unit upgrades are no longer researched in buildings, but can be purchased at once for each unit type.

For example, you can increase the hit points, attack value, armor, speed, and range of your tanks separately, for a price. It is your choice whether to spend your income on a large army or an advanced one.

The game's four campaigns span the entire history of war: conquer the Mediterranean like the Greeks, lead the English from the Middle Ages to the Battle of Waterloo, change history by making the Germans victors of the First and Second World War. World War and eventually creating a Russian Empire in 2025.
