Darksiders Wrath of Waris an action RPG game developed by Vigil Games, a studio created by Joe Madureira, author of such famous comic series as X-Men, The Ultimates or Battle Chasers.

The story refers to the Apocalypse of Saint John. We assume the role of war, one of the four horsemen announced by the evangelist. He comes to Earth to destroy it, but it turns out he was cunningly tricked. As a consequence, the protagonist was stripped of most of his powers. If that wasn't enough, he becomes a target for both demons and angels. The Horseman of War, now abandoned by all, returns to Earth and sets out on a journey to regain his abilities, find his lost steed, and uncover the mystery of betrayal.

Technically, the story takes place in the near future, but the protagonist uses a classic "slayer" arsenal, including a giant sword and scythe. The list goes on, and is complemented by cars or larger objects, because War can grab them and throw them at his enemies. Additionally, there are numerous upgrades that will be obtained throughout the game.
