It is a grid-based prison tracker developed by Jon Hibbins and Nick Pitma. You may recognize his previous works which include Spirited Away, Boiler Room and My Neighbor Totoro; But what makes Crystal Rift special is not the behind-the-scenes development pedigree, but its grid-based movement, graphical style, attention to detail and sense of horror.
Originally released as a Kickstarter campaign in late 2014, the game was successfully funded by avid VR gamers and should finally see release in late 2015. With a recent demo DK2 released to Kickstarter supporters boot, we decided to load it up and see how the game is coming along.
