Company of Heroesfor PC/Windows is a real-time strategy game created by the creators ofWarhammer 40,000: Dawn of War and Homeworld.
The game relates to World War II as a whole, but its main focus is the American fight against the Germans in the western part of Europe. In Company of Heroes for PC/Windows, the single-player campaign setting opens during the Allied air and sea landing in Normandy on the memorable D-Day.
The campaign plays out like a good movie featuring the heroes of the company mentioned in the title. As for multiplayer (online, LAN), up to eight players can enjoy the game together, each of them joining the Allied Forces or the Germans. A lot of locations and weapons in the game are based on authentic locations and models. The company of heroes for PC / Windows has very convincing virtual environments thanks to the Essence Engine, responsible for the graphics.
The three-dimensional game world is prone to destruction, so the player may witness stone crosses being crushed into pieces by tanks tearing through a cemetery, explosions making craters in the ground, or buildings collapsing beneath heavy fire spectacularly. Additionally, the intelligent intelligence of the team members makes them effective in cooperation during battles.
