Codename: Outbreak (also known as Venom: Codename: Outbreak) is a first-person action video game developed by Ukrainian GSC Game World and published by Virgin Interactive. It is updated during the 21st century. Before the start of the game, a meteor shower arrives containing a parasitic alien life form that takes control of its hosts. The invasion is spreading rapidly. The game consists of fighting this alien invasion in more than 14 different levels.
During the 21st century, a meteor storm attacks an open valley in the US. Police, scientific teams and marine units are sent to investigate. They disappear shortly after. In the opening of the scene, an advance team is in operation when it is reported that some of the men have the broadcasting stopped on the radios. Captain Wilson, the team's leader, and his friend Steve suddenly come under fire from their teammates. As they retreat for aerial pickup, Steve is injured. As Wilson desperately waits for the transport to arrive, an unknown beast suddenly jumps at Wilson and the screen goes black.
