The story ofArmA III / ArmA 3for PC is developed in the near future. After years of intense wars in the Middle East, Europe has become the last bastion of NATO's weakened military forces. The Treaty bosses seek the opportunity to change the situation through a desperate mission deep behind enemy lines.

A small island in the Mediterranean Sea hides a military secret that may be crucial to the outcome of the ongoing conflict. Special forces and investigators are sent to the island. An operation codenamed Magnitude begins.

Single-player includes both the story-based campaign and sandbox mode (no victory conditions). Also, the Czech developers did not forget about the game dedicated to multiplayer enthusiasts. Dedicated servers (separate for Windows and Linux systems) are open for both competitive and cooperative play.

The goal that the developers set for the game was to give players as much freedom as possible. This is reflected, e.g. in extensive uniform and weapon customization options. Compared to previous entries in the series, ArmA III offers a wider range of available weapons and vehicles.
