Aquanox Deep Descentis the third installment in the futuristic submarine simulator series, and this time the game was created by Serbian studio Digital Arrow from the creators of InMomentum. Previous entries in the series were developed by Massive Development.
Aquanox: Deep Descent does not continue the plots started in previous Aquanox installments. Instead, it tells its own story. The game takes place in a world where, due to pollution and faulty nanobots, humans were forced to move their civilization underwater. Pollution also led to the mutation of marine fauna that caused many new genera of animals and fish to appear in the waters. Oversized animals are not the only threat in this world, as humans are also divided into several hostile factions.
The player controls a futuristic submarine and participates in various activities, including trade missions, resource collection, raids, and battles. He can join a faction of his choosing or act alone. Like the Elite space series, Aquanox: Deep Descent focuses on the simulation aspect of the game.
Not only are the controls and physics of the ship realistic, but also the surrounding world. Because of that, there aren't many glass buildings in the game world; They may be pretty, but they definitely wouldn't be useful in a world full of conflict. A similar realistic touch can be found by checking available technologies and ship upgrades.
