Alone in the Dark: Illuminationfor PC/Windows is the sixth game in the established survival horror series and the first developed by Pure. The works of H.P. Lovecraft and the Cthulhu mythos inspired the game.
The game takes place in the northern Virginia town of Lorwich. Once a thriving industrial center, the city was destroyed by a mysterious flood, the cause of which was never found. There are many legends about this place and the surrounding mines, and people began to report some strange occurrences, supposedly involving forces of evil and Darkness. We play as one of the characters whose job is to find out what is happening in Lorwich and stop the imminent threat.
Alone in the Dark: Illumination for PC/Windows offers four single-player campaigns and cooperative multiplayer. There are four characters available: The Hunter, The Witch, The Engineer and The Priest. The first of these, The Hunter, is a descendant of Edward Carnby from the previous game in the series. He is a private investigator who specializes in supernatural cases and uses primary firearms (i.e. AK47, M4, P90 or a flamethrower).
The witch is the granddaughter or Emily Hartwood. She inherited her supernatural abilities based on electricity and mind control from her ancestors. The engineer is the daughter of the senior engineer of the well-known IT corporation. She uses various gadgets and is skilled with a rifle and a beretta. Last but not least, we can play as The Priest. She specializes in healing the injured and performs exorcisms. He can use powers such as the Lord's Blinding Light, Heaven and Hell, Cleansing of Sinners, or the Binding Word.
