The third chapter of the Alone in the Dark series finds Detective Edward Carnby exploring an authentic, haunted, Wild West ghost town, investigating the disappearance of a film crew that had been shooting in the area. Loony outlaw and undead prospectors lurk nearby making the job of exploring the city's secret passages more difficult. Alone in the Dark 3 uses the same third-person interface that made the first two titles so popular.

Sharp thinking and strong shooting are needed to survive, because you will never know what is lurking in the corners of this creepy title. Solving puzzles and killing bad guys are the order of the day, and business is booming. Although the setting seems out of place compared to previous titles, fans of the series know that where there is supernatural evil, Edward Carnby can't be far away.
