"The stories you can draw from real events are deep, entertaining and rich in history – and, of course, they offer great possibilities for social impact," Khonsari tells IGN. "We at Ink Stories find the immersive possibilities of gaming very inspiring."

While Khonsari and his team hope to encourage the rise of "verité games," or games rooted in non-fiction, they also make clear that the 1979 Revolution's target audience is gamers, first and foremost.
